Lynn Martin

February 4, 1958 — November 2, 2023

SWANTON- Lynn A. Martin, age 65, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, November 2, 2023.

She was born in St. Albans on February 4, 1958 to the late Fernand and Evelyn (Ducharme) Benjamin.

Lynn spent her formative years in Alburgh, and completed her education at Alburgh Elementary School before graduating from Missisquoi Valley High School. Throughout her life, she enjoyed taking on various roles and working diligently until she found her true passion as a caregiver. Lynn dedicated herself to helping others, and she took immense pride in her role as a Licensed Nursing Assistant.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Lynn found joy and fulfillment in various creative endeavors. From crafting and crocheting to sewing and decorating, she possessed a natural talent for bringing beauty into the world. Lynn had a special affinity for the holiday season. Her culinary skills were nothing short of extraordinary, with her cheesecake being an all-time favorite for Christmas among family and friends.

Lynn loved the excitement of visiting the casino, hoping for a stroke of luck. She had an appreciation for entertainment and enjoyed indulging in her favorite soap operas. Lynn's taste in music transported her back in time, as she reveled in the melodies of 70s rock bands like AC/DC, and Tom Petty.

Beneath her seemingly tough exterior, Lynn possessed a heart of gold. She had a dry sense of humor that would often catch her loved ones off guard, but her kindness, generosity, and compassion shone through in every interaction. Animals held a special place in Lynn's heart, and she welcomed countless strays into her home, providing them with love and care.

She leaves her loving daughter and her husband, Tamara & Rodney Martel II of Swanton; sister, Penny Benjamin & Floyd of Alburgh; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and best friend, Sue Blair of Alburgh. In addition to her parents, Fernand & Evelyn, Lynn was also predeceased by her siblings, Judy Hoffman, Larry Benjamin, and David Benjamin.
