Madeline Bressette

June 30, 1931 — September 27, 2025

SWANTON- Madeline T. Bressette, age 94, peacefully passed away on Saturday, September 27th, 2025, at the Northwestern Medical Center surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born on June 30th, 1931, in Highgate Center, VT to the late Henry and Mary (Tracy) Beyor.

While growing up in Highgate, she spent her early years helping her father manage his hotel, "The Bayview Hotel" and "The Phantasia", alongside her 11 siblings, in Highgate Springs, VT, which was a well-known spot for roller skating, dancing, and live music. Madeline could normally be found on the dance floor. Madeline went on to having a fulfilling career as a machine operator at Union Carbide, where she devoted 22 years of her life. On July 17th, 1950, she married her cherished husband, Winfield, and together they built a loving home filled with laughter and cherished memories.

Madeline was known for her welcoming nature and her passion for cooking. She often gathered family and friends around the table, sharing delicious meals and creating cherished memories, inviting family and friends to gather at her pool for joyous celebrations. She took great pride in attending her granddaughter Amber's softball games, always cheering her on from the sidelines. Her love for housework was evident in the care she took in her home, which stood as a testament to her nurturing spirit. Family members would often joke with Madeline by saying, "If you want to make Madeline feel better, hand her a broom!".

Madeline is survived by her children, David Bressette, and his partner Lucy Leduc, and June Charbonneau; brother, Lawrence Beyor; granddaughter, Amber Robins, and her husband Luke; sister-in-law, Beverly MacInnis; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Madeline was predeceased by her husband, Winfield Bressette; siblings, Ruth Rentz, Pearl Wilson, Ralph Beyor, Carlton Beyor, Marshall Beyor, Marion Brooks, Robert Beyor, Lillian Hakey, Rita Benjamin, and Marie Bell.
