Madeline "Maddy" Freeman

HIGHGATE - Madeline "Maddy" R. Freeman, age 92, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2025 with her loving family by her side. She now joins the love of her life, Robert "Bobby" Freeman.

She was born in Bedford, Quebec, Canada on February 23, 1933 to the late Gabriel & Rhea (Rolland) Boucher.

Maddy lived a vibrant life filled with love and creativity. She cherished dancing with her soulmate, Bobby, creating timeless memories that will forever be cherished by her loved ones. She enjoyed crafting, crocheting, and painting on her iPad. Playing bingo and taking trips to the casino also brought her joy.

Maddy's love for her family was boundless. She relished every moment spent with them, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be remembered for her kind-hearted nature and her ability to make anyone feel welcome. Her laughter and gentle spirit enriched the lives of everyone that knew her.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Gagne and her fiancé Mark Farnham of Highgate; grandchildren, Robin Gagne and her wife, Laura Petig of Highgate, and Brian Gagne and his fiancé, Krista Harrison of St. Albans; great grandchildren, Paiton Gagne, Hunter Gagne, and Averi Harrison; her brother, Paul Ouimette and his wife JoAnne; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and great friends. In addition to her parents, Maddy was predeceased by her husband, Robert Freeman; her children, Kathy, Cindy, and Steven; son-in-law, Paul Gagne; grandson, Steven Gagne; and her brother, Marcel Larocque.

Maddy's family would like to give a special thank you to all of her care providers including Dr. Scott Perrapato, her oncologist; Riley Robtoy, Michael Gaffney, and Abby Bunting from Brownway Residence; Courtney, Amanda, Bridgette, and Leah from Bayada Hospice; and Tracy Pilbin for all of her extra effort.

Family and friends are invited to Maddy's life celebration on Monday, September 15, 2025 to include visitation from 1-2:00 PM followed with a memorial service at 2:00 PM at the Goss Life Celebration Home, 89 Grand Avenue, Swanton, VT. Interment will be held privately at the family's convenience in St. Louis Cemetery in Highgate.
