Marie "Joan" Loeffler

FRANKLIN/HIGH SPRINGS, FL– Marie “Joan” Loeffler, age 94, passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans.  

She was born in Irvington, NJ on December 5, 1926 to the late Norman and Marie (Robrecht) Fourre.

Joan grew up in New Jersey and was the eldest of 8 siblings. She married Robert “Bob” Loeffler Sr. on May 26, 1951 and the two had 4 children. As a homemaker, a wife, and a mother, Joan was strong, capable, and always striving to make everything better. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed making her children’s clothes growing up, their doll clothes, and her grandchildren’s doll clothes. Joan also loved reading, crafts, knitting, quilting, crocheting, and textiles. She had a knack for fixing just about anything herself and volunteered for many years at a nursing home reupholstering furniture and curtains. Along with her time spent volunteering for a local nursing home, she also was incredibly active in the churches she attended. After her husband retired, they set out to explore and traveled throughout the United States and Canada, they did so much traveling in fact, they wore out 3 campers.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Bob Loeffler of Franklin; children, Joann M. Loeffler of Kissimmee, FL, Linda I. Pierce and her husband Terrance of Franklin, and Peter G. Loeffler and his wife Trish Nagey of Clearwater, FL; grandchildren, Adam and his wife Nadine, Ashley, Marlea, Kelly, Rose, and Allison and her husband Rob; 9 great grandchildren and 1 on the way; brother, Donald Fourre and his wife Donna; sister-in-law, Audrey Barczak; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Joan was predeceased by a son, Robert F. Loeffler on 9-28-2009; and siblings, Norman L Fourre Jr., Carl A. Fourre, Edwin R. Fourre, Helen A. Broughton, Irma V. Billinger, and Antoinette J. Clyatt.

In keeping with Joan’s wishes there will be no services at this time.
