RICHFORD – Mary Jane Messier, age 83, passed away on Friday, December 4, 2020 at the St. Albans Health & Rehabilitation Center in St. Albans

She was born in Richford on April 12, 1937 to the Lionel and Theresa (Lefebvre) Messier.

Mary Jane grew up in Richford and graduated from Richford High School. She enjoyed taking care of others, including the elderly, which suited her servant heart and co-owned and operated Donna’s Community Care Home with her first husband Carlton Donna until 1998. In her younger years, she was also an active member of the All Saints Catholic Church and Missisquoi Valley Lions.

She is survived by her children, Guy Charbonneau and his wife Cindy of Richford, Gail Shover and her husband Gary of Richford, Lionel Charbonneau and his wife Francine of Fairfield, Glenn Charbonneau and his wife Stacey of Sheldon, and Gina Brown and her husband Scott of Richford; step-daughter, Lisa Messier and her significant other Eric Czado of Essex; grandchildren, Jolyn, and Emily Shover, Bradley, Rachel, and Colby Charbonneau, Delight, and Crystal Boomhower, Lynde, Ashley, and Allison Yandow; 16 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild; step-grandchildren, Marin Cummings and Lorelei Czado; sister, Margaret Larivee of Richford; brother-in-law, James Messier and his significant other Muriel Girard of St. Albans; and special friends, Cathy & Claude Coulombe of Richford. Besides her parents, Mary Jane was predeceased by her husbands, Carlton Donna, Edmund Paquette, and Maurice Messier; and brother, James Messier.

A Life Celebration will be held this spring at the St. Isidore Catholic Cemetery in Montgomery Center at the convenience of her family.
