FRANKLIN - Morton H. Greenwood, Sr., age 79, died peacefully at his home, Monday May 5, 2008.

He was born May 22, 1928 in Sheldon the son of the late Horace & Ada (Longe) Greenwood.

Morton was a resident of Franklin for the past 30 years where he was employed at the Claude Larose farm from 1977 until he retired in 2000. Prior to farming he worked at Sweat & Comings Furniture Factory in Richford for several years. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving with the 22nd Armored Battalion from 1954 to 1956.

He is survived by 2 children, and their spouses, Nancy & Christopher Mazzariello of Rutland, and Morton & Carey Greenwood Jr. of Richford; 3 step-children, Deborah Desautels of Richford, Daniel Brown of Chittenden, and Leon Brown and his wife Lena of Enosburg; his grandchildren, Christopher, Courtney, Robbie & Rachelle, Jordan, Zachary, Christine, Cassandra & Benjamin Greenwood; step-grandchildren, Christina Wetherby, Christiane & Rebecca Brown; 3 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Ray Greenwood of Enosburg; and 1 sister, Talmadge Gross of Agawam, MA; and a special friend and relative, Leroy Manosh; many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents Morton was predeceased by a son, Noah Greenwood; 3 brothers, Lawrence, Hollis & Olin Greenwood.

Funeral services will be held Friday May 9, 2008 at 10:00 AM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg with Pastor Patrick Hoadley officiating. Interment will follow in the Montgomery Center Cemetery.

A time of visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 9:00 AM until the hour of the funeral.
