Nancy LaPlant

EAST HIGHGATE - Nancy A. LaPlant (Dragon), age 73, passed away on July 27th, 2025.

Nancy was born on February 4th, 1952. Nancy was married to George LaPlant for 44 years before he predeceased her on April 5, 2012.

Nancy spent her work years at five places: Softlight, New England Container, STC, Rosie's Beef Jerky, and the Highgate Sports Arena with special friends Al and Judy Laroche, and Sue Larocque. Nancy had many hobbies that included going to casinos in Atlantic City, playing cards and poker games, Bingo, and going for rides on the side by sides and kayaking with family. Vacations with friends were always fun for her. A favorite pastime was watching her soaps.

Some special memories included Holiday gatherings that she hosted, and they always included her famous eggs which she made for her grandchildren, and listening to her favorite song, "Picture" by Cheryl Crow and Kid Rock.

Nancy leaves her two sons, George LaPlant Jr. and his wife Heather of East Highgate and Mike LaPlant and his wife Abby; five grandsons, Eric (Stacy), Ryan (Weasel), Dawson, Cadden and Dalton, and a granddaughter, Lilie; one great grandson, Evann; three brothers and two sisters, James (Jimmy) Dragon and his wife Joyce, David Dragon and his wife Jackie, Carol Teague and her husband Leo, John (Chucky) and his wife Terry, and Judy and her fiancé, Randy; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A very special friend of both George and Nancy was Bobby and Chicky Witham whom they did so much with. Nancy was predeceased by a daughter, Roseanne LaPlant, parents Roger Dragon and Antionette Dragon (Garrow), and brother Ronald Dragon.

Friends and family will be invited to Nancy's life celebration to include a visitation on Monday, August 4th, 2025, from 6-9:00PM at the Goss Life Celebration Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton, VT 05488. A funeral will be held on Tuesday, August 5th, 2025, at 11:00AM at the Goss Life Celebration Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton, VT 05488. Interment will follow in St. Louis Cemetery.
