Nicolas Tanner

May 31, 1982 — May 27, 2023

Nicolas Alan Tanner, born in St. Albans, VT on May 31, 1982, died on May 27, 2023, from a car accident. He was the first born, and only son of Richard Tanner and Susan Fox Tanner. He graduated from Highgate Elementary School where he participated in drama and little league. After graduating 8th grade at Missisquoi Valley Middle School, he transferred to Bellows Free Academy.

Nic was employed at WestRock in Sheldon, VT for the last 6 years. Previously he worked for Action Moving and as a roofer. Nicolas was a hard worker, a great provider and enjoyed helping anyone that needed it.

From a young age Nicolas loved anything that had wheels. This included toy cars, model trains, and large 18-wheelers. This led to bicycles, skateboards and his beloved "gumper" lawn tractor. Nic spent most weekends at his Aunt Norma and Uncle Denny's helping to remodel their house, going to Hampton Beach, Maine and weekly Thunder Road outings with Pat and Greg. Many weeks were spent traveling the country with his father in a tractor-trailer truck. When Nic started tormenting his little sisters too much his grandmother would come get him so he could play with his Aunt Monica.

Nicolas had an infectious smile that got him out of a lot of mischief but made him lifelong friends. Nic had a huge family, and his cousins were his first friends. Many days were spent on adventures with Chad, Tansy, Dylan, and Brant at the Newton home. Nicolas' heart knew no boundaries as he loved all babies, children and dogs.

The pride and joy of Nicolas's life was his daughter, Zoey. She was his sidekick, his snuggle buddy, video watching baby girl. They spoke every morning and talked every night and numerous times throughout the day. A large void will never be filled in this little girl's heart.

Nicolas is survived by his daughter Zoey, and her mother, Nic's best friend, Jenalee Many. His parents, Susan Fox Tanner and Richard (Louise) Tanner. His sisters, Hollie, Katie, Olivia, Savannah and Jenessah. His "adopted" children Chloe and Hunter Comstock who had a huge piece of Nic's heart. He is also survived by his aunts: Norma, Nancy (Park), Monica (James), Marie, and Madalyn. He has one uncle, Jody. Nicolas' grandparents, Richard, Rachel Tanner and Glendon and Chrystal Fox are also surviving. Among the surviving are his former in-laws, Laura Allard and Jenalee's siblings Jeremy, Jordan, Joshua, Jerika and Nicole. He also has numerous cousins, nieces and nephews left behind.

Nic was predeceased by his biggest fans, Grandmother Agnes Anderson and Grandfather Bacil Anderson. His stepfather Kevin, Aunt Sandy, Grammie Houghton, Aunt Tammy, great Aunts Lorraine and Eleanor and too many friends to mention.
