She moved into Hawks Nest Senior Apartments in 2005 where she met many friends that became part of her family. She enjoyed putting together puzzles, and dancing to live country music most Saturday nights in the building's community room. She also catered many private events and hosted Holiday meals and pot luck dinners for the residents of Hawks Nest.
Norma greatly enjoyed cooking, baking and was a local celebrity who was known for her home cooked meals. She fed anyone and everyone she came in contact with and when you left her presence you had a full stomach and some leftovers for another meal. Other hobbies included sewing, quilting, crocheting and crafting in general. She enjoyed fishing in the summer months and traveling whenever and wherever she could. Norma was a known lucky gambler who always would walk away a winner. Norma was an active member of the St. Albans Elks lodge #1566, where she often prepared meals for Lodge events.
One of thirteen children Norma was predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Amanda, and siblings, Ella Clough, Louise Cassady, Pauline Ingraham, Audrey Bogie, Velma Lucas, Arthur Cassady, Roger Cassady, Lewis Cassady, Allen Cassady , Marie Cassady and Linda MacGowan.
