EAST BERKSHIRE - Raymond Kinney, age 85, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2026 at his home in East Berkshire.
He was born July 24, 1941 in East Berkshire to the late Glenn & Reta (Pattee) Kinney.
Raymond was a life-long farmer and a fixture of his community. He was always embracing the beauty of the outdoors and dedicating his life to hard work. He was a man of many trades. From mechanic to truck driver, sugar maker to logger, he poured his heart and soul into everything he did. Outside of work, his early years were filled with hunting and fishing, but as time passed, his interests evolved into quieter pursuits. He found joy in his early morning rides through the area, checking in on neighbors and sharing updates, and at Maplefields, where he attended his daily coffee briefings.
For years, Raymond's passion for maintaining the road to the family sugar house became a daily ritual. He could often be found on his tractor, adding gravel one bucket at a time, ensuring every part of the farm was as it should be. He had that rare ability to appreciate the simple moments in life, whether it was a trip to the casino or catching up on local happenings with Robert & Betty Archambault.
He is survived by his wife, Ginny Kinney; their children, Todd Kinney and his significant other Sharon Kittell, and Peggy Kinney; grandchildren, Alicia Marcy and her husband Ethan, Jason Kittell and his wife Brittany, Glenn Kinney and his wife Allison, Katie Boylan and her husband AJ, Amanda Woods and her husband Kory, Chris Kittell, Neil Kinney and his wife Delight, and Nicholas Clark; great grandchildren, Aiden, Colton, Brigg, Ollie, Jorja, Michelin, Schylar, Maddie, Kayden, Logan, Kaleb, Hannah, Aubrey, Braylee, Dominic, Cruce, Dalton, and Shawn; nephew, Andy Kinney and his wife Jennifer; and many extended family members. In addition to his parents, Raymond was predeceased by his son, Neil Kinney; daughter-in-law, Gail Kinney; grandson-in-law, Michael Amann; brother, Allan Kinney and his wife Joyce; nephews, Allan Kinney Jr., and Michael Kinney; and his good friend, Guy Breault.
In keeping with Raymond's wishes, there will be no public services, and he will be laid to rest on the farm.
