Richard Anthony Boswell, affectionately known as Tony, passed away peacefully at home on August 23, 2026, at the age of 76, surrounded by his family.
Born in Washington DC, Tony was the son of Ernest Boswell and Ruth Rogers Boswell. He spent much of his life in Brooklyn, NY. He served in the United States Army from 1977 to 1983 as an operating room specialist and medical specialist. During his service, he earned marksman qualifications with the M-16 rifle and hand grenade, along with the Good Conduct Medal, Army Service Ribbon, and Overseas Service Ribbon. Following his military service, Tony continued caring for others as a nursing assistant in New York and Vermont.

He especially enjoyed the company of children and the family dog. His strong, kind presence touched the lives of many.
In his final years, Tony made his home with Jamie Willoughby and her family, who welcomed him into their lives and lovingly cared for him through the end of his life.
Tony will be laid to rest with military honors at the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph, Vermont, on October 22, 2026.
Tony will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
