Richard A. Parks Sr.

April 25, 1944 — April 10, 2021

 

SWANTON – Richard A. Parks, age 76, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family and many pets on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at his home in Swanton.

 

He was born in St. Albans on April 25, 1944 to the late Diane Harrington.

 

Richard grew up and attended school in Enosburg. After school, he met Arlene (Murray) and they married on February 14, 1964. He worked for many years in maintenance at the old foundry, and Northwestern Medical Center. Richard loved hunting, fishing, and watching TV – especially Star Trek and hunting shows.

 

He is survived by his wife, Arlene Parks of Swanton; their children, Richard A. Parks Jr. and his wife Tammy of Swanton, and Theresa Parks-Lussier of Swanton; grandchildren, Richard Parks III and his wife Karin, Grace Parks, Shaina Lussier, Karly Lussier, Nicholas Parks, and Callie Parks; a great-granddaughter, Abigail Parks; his brother, John “Alfred” Reed and his wife Sue; and many nieces & nephews. In addition to his mother, Richard was predeceased by his son, Dwayne Parks; his grandson, Michael Lussier Jr.; and his great-granddaughter, Ameila Parks.

 

Friends and family are invited to Richard’s life celebration to include a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Church of the Nativity, 65 Canada St., Swanton, VT. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Swanton.
