Rita Sanborn

RICHFORD - Rita Ruth Sanborn, a beloved mother, cherished friend, and devoted homemaker, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2025. Rita lived a life full of warmth, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her family and friends.

She was born in Fairfield on July 17, 1932 to the late James & Ruth (Moran) Tracy.

A true embodiment of love and generosity, Rita was a remarkable homemaker who created a nurturing sanctuary for her sons, Clifford, Rod, and Steven. She found joy in the everyday tasks, ensuring that her home was filled with love, laughter, and the delightful aroma of her favorite meals. Her giving spirit extended to all who crossed her path, as she was always ready to lend a helping hand or offer a supportive word.

Rita had a zest for life that was evident in her many passions. She found great joy in going for walks, often relishing the beauty of nature and the simple pleasure of movement. Traveling brought her immense happiness, with every journey offering her new experiences and treasured memories. Rita's love for vintage fashion was a testament to her spirited personality; she would often be found at thrift stores and lawn sales, uncovering unique treasures that brought her joy and reflected her distinct style.

She is survived by her children, Clifford Sanborn and his wife Celeste (Vogel), Roderick Sanborn and his wife Mary Ann (Skordoulis), and Steven Sanborn; grandchildren, Sarah Luiggi and her husband Alex, Jeremy Sanborn and his wife Sara (Minetti), Nicole (DiPasquale) Sanborn, and Khloe Sanborn; great grandchildren, Grace Luiggi, Sebastian Luiggi, Isabella Luiggi, Jaden Sanborn and his wife Olivia (LeClair), Katherine Morales and her husband Kevin, Ryan Sanborn and his fiancé Samantha Bushee, Elijah Sanborn, Aiden Sanborn, and Liam Sanborn; great great grandchildren, Wesley Sanborn, Everett Sanborn, and Lukas Sanborn; and several nieces & nephews. In addition to her parents, Rita was predeceased by her husband, Ernest Sanborn; newborn daughter, Gail Marie Sanborn; daughter-in-law, Kelly (Caples) Sanborn; grandson, Aaron Sanborn; and her siblings, Gerald Tracy, Violet Tracy, and Wallace Tracy.

Friends & family are invited to Rita's life celebration to include a memorial service on Friday, November 7, 2025, at 1:00 PM at the Goss-Spears Life Celebration Home, 96 Dickinson Avenue, Enosburg Falls, VT. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Golf Course Road, Richford, VT.
