Romeo Boyer

HIGHGATE - Romeo H. Boyer passed away March 8, 2026, at his home in Highgate Falls, VT.

He was the son of the late Romeo and Christina Boyer of Rouses Point, NY. Along with his parents, Romeo is preceded in death by his late wife Nancy A. Boyer whom he married in 1966 after meeting on a blind date. They were married for 55 years until Nancy's passing in 2021.

Romeo was born November 27, 1942. He was raised in Rouses Point by his mother after his father was killed in the Pacific Theater during World War II. After marrying and starting a family, Romeo devoted much of his career to the companies of Jonergin, Bertek and Mylan where he rose through the ranks of supply chain management as a purchasing manager. Romeo especially enjoyed planning the Jonergin's annual summer and Christmas parties. Along with his professional career Romeo did a brief stint as a radio DJ at the local AM station.

Romeo was passionate about reading and music. Romeo had an insatiable appetite for reading. He could often be found with a book in his hand. Romeo also had an extensive vinyl collection which he treasured. In addition, Romeo enjoyed fishing and boating on Lake Champlain, deep sea fishing and visiting the ocean in Maine, RVing, and going out to eat. In his retirement years he enjoyed traveling with his wife Nancy.

Romeo is survived by his three children: Carolyn Drumheller (Paul) of Lovingston, VA; Jennifer Boyer of Highgate Center, VT; and Stephen Boyer of Highgate Falls, VT. Romeo is also survived by his six grandchildren: Matthew and Patrick Drumheller, Anthony Airoldi, Allyssa-Lisé Airoldi, Maryjane Benoit (Shawn), and Blaise Boyer-Pecor. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren and his brother-in-law David Baker (Cora).

Friends & family are invited to Romeo's life celebration to include visitation from 4-7:00 PM on Friday, March 20, 2026 at Goss Life Celebration Home, 89 Grand Avenue, Swanton, VT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at 11:00 AM at St Louis Catholic Church, 222 Lamkin Street, Highgate, VT. Interment will be held this spring in St. Anthony's Cemetery in Sheldon Springs.
