Roy "Joe" A. Richard

March 28, 1971 — April 23, 2022

EAST FAIRFIELD – Roy “Joe” A. Richard, age 51, passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans.

He was born in St. Albans on March 28, 1971 to the late Robert & Marion (LaPlante) Richard.

Joe grew up locally, and married Amy (Beaudry) after 17 years together, on September 11, 2010. Their families joined them at a backyard wedding on Chester A. Arthur Road. Joe and Amy arrived in a white limo, had a hell of a celebration that everyone enjoyed, and left in a camper to celebrate their honeymoon. They lived in Alburgh for many years until a housefire displaced them, and they relocated to East Fairfield. Joe started his own vinyl siding business, R&R Vinyl and made siding a work of art. He was a hard worker, but when he had free time, he loved to deer hunt, ice fish on Hog Island and listen to classic rock, especially Tom Petty. Joe loved nothing more than his family, they meant the world to him. He loved to have a good time, and make people laugh while enjoying a few Twisted Tea’s. Everyone recognized Joe when he rolled into town in his 1978, green Trans-Am. Joe had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone, he will be greatly missed by many.

He is survived by his wife, Amy Richard of East Fairfield; his children, Devon Cook and his wife Victoria of Pennsylvania, Jacob Longe of East Fairfield, and Mikayla Champagne and her partner Mitchal Shedrick also of East Fairfield; siblings, Virginia “Jenny”, Rosie, Rena, Tammy, Nancy, Cindy, and Bobby; mother-in-law, Tina Rivers and her husband Michael; father-in-law, Chris Beaudry and his partner Penny Santy; his beloved cat, Dusty; special friends, Chad Laroe and Jacob Ledoux; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and close family. Besides his parents, Joe was predeceased by two beloved canine companions, Sadie and Hunter.

Joe’s family is planning a Life Celebration that will be held at a later date, service details will follow.
