Ruth Ruch

RICHFORD - Ruth Joanna Ruch, age 76, wife of Willard Arnold Ruch, passed away Sunday morning August 31, 2008 at the Northwestern Medical Center with her loving family at her side.

She was born August 27, 1932 in Randolph, Vermont the daughter of the late Arthur C. & Lucy (Bean) Bass. She attended Randolph High School.

Ruth has been a resident of Richford, Fairfield and St. Albans for over the past 30 years and was a former resident of New Hampshire. While in New Hampshire she devoted her time to being a DeMolay mother with the Exeter Chapter. Her many hobbies included needle work, sewing, and crocheting. She donated much of her work to charitable organizations such as the Richford Ambulance Service and the Richford Fire Department. Being a breast cancer survivor she also donated her quilts to several cancer organizations for their fund raising raffles.

Ruth was a devoted, wife, mother and grandmother. She was a kind and considerate friend and neighbor and enjoyed sharing her canned pickles and homemade jellies and jams.

She is survived by her husband, Willard Arnold Ruch of Richford. They were married July 28, 1951. She is also survived by 3 daughters, Marcella Dockham of Jordan, NY, twins - Dianne Schink and her husband Stephen of Rome, NY, and Joanne Ruch and her husband Reggie Beaton of Gorham, ME.; 6 grandchildren, Joseph Morin Jr., Sean Gatcomb, Desiree Morin, Suann Hall, Mikayla Dubuque, and Justin Ruch; 7 great grandchildren, Craig, Nathan, Teonna, Haley, Leo & Aliyah; a sister, Linda Bradshaw of Ardin, NC; 6 nieces, 4 nephews and their families. Besides her parents, Ruth was predeceased by her son, Bruce A. Ruch; 3 brothers, Martin, Alden & Merwin Bass; 3 sisters, Electa MacDougall, Cornelia Washburn, and Edna May Bass.

In keeping with Ruths wishes she will be cremated. Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service that will be held Friday September 12, 2008 at 2:00 PM at the Vermont Veterans Cemetery in Randolph with Pastor Patrick Hoadley officiating. There will be no visiting hours.
