SWANTON - Sharon Koons, age 74, passed away on Monday, June 9th, 2026 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born on March 1, 1952 in Columbia Falls, Maine to Kenneth and Barbara (Grant) Noorda.
She was a beloved wife, daughter, devoted mother, and cherished friend. Those who knew her will remember her as a compassionate soul who always put family first. Together with her husband, Terry Koons, whom she loved deeply, they adopted three wonderful children at a young age, creating a home filled with laughter, love, and the aroma of Sunday dinners that became a cherished family tradition.
A lover of the arts, Sharon found joy in knitting and crocheting, often creating beautiful pieces that warmed the hearts of her family and friends. She treasured quiet moments spent watching her favorite shows, always accompanied by her loved ones.
She is survived by her mother, Barbara Noorda; sisters, Karen Gagne and husband Cyrille, and Arlene Lafreniere; husband, Terry Koons; daughter, Barbara Benoit and husband Brent; sons, Sean Murphy, Terry Koons Jr. and partner Jillian Stout, Joseph Koons, Mikle Koons, Darren Koons; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Aldridge and her husband Braeden, Kaleb Murphy, Valeri Murphy, Dominique Murphy, Brenden Burns and fiancé Cheyanne, Bailey Burns, Addison Burns, Teaghan Koons, Taron Koons; great grandchildren, Grayson and Everly. She was predeceased by her father, Kenneth Noorda, and her daughter, Heather Burns.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, June 16th, 2026 from 5-7:00PM at the Goss Life Celebration Home, 89 grand Ave., Swanton, VT 05488
