RICHFORD - Shirley G. Jacobs, age 84, peacefully passed away on Saturday, September 20th, 2025, at Our Lady of The Meadows surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born on December 16th, 1940, in Montgomery, VT to Telmadge (Greenwood) and the late Melburn Guilmette.
Shirley graduated from Richford High School in 1959 with honors. She was employed by the Sheldon Pulp and Paper Office before opening her well-known store, "Shirleys Fabric Shop". Shirley embodied an extraordinary work ethic that inspired those around her. She poured her heart into her craft, nurturing friendships and providing her customers with quality fabrics and heartfelt service. She later became an adjudicator with the office of the United States Department of Justice.
Her greatest achievement was her unwavering love for her family. They were the center of her universe, and she dedicated her life to nurturing their dreams and guiding them through life's journeys. One of the happiest days of her life was July 2nd, 1960, when she married Roger Jacobs. They were happily married for 54 years until his passing on March 25th, 2015. They were blessed with two children, Pamela & Roger Jr.; five grandchildren, Colby, Danielle, Jason, Kelsey, and Ashley; and several great grandchildren all of whom brought much joy to their lives.
She is survived by her children, Pamela Marshall, and Roger Jacobs Jr. and his wife, Louise; grandchildren, Colby Marshall, Danielle Carpenter and her husband Kyle, Jason Longley, Kelsey Jacobs, and Ashley Jacobs; her mother, Telmadge "Thelma" Guilmette and her five younger sisters, Joanne O'Brien, Marshia Regnier, Gloria Afanasiew, Colleen Mason and Jolyn Farradaz and their families; sister-in-law, Lora Jacobs, brother-in-law, Stephen Jacobs and his wife Judy; several nieces & nephews and special friend, Lois Lumbra. In addition to her father, Shirley was predeceased by her husband, Roger Jacobs Sr.; son-in-law, Alan Marshall; and special friend, Francis Lumbra.
Friends & family are invited to Shirley's life celebration on Saturday, September 27, 2025, to include visitation from 1-2:00 PM followed with a funeral service at 2:00 PM at the Goss-Spears Life Celebration Home, 96 Dickinson Avenue, Enosburg Falls, VT. Interment will follow in Richford Center Cemetery.
