Stuart "Boob" Gleason

ENOSBURG - Stuart Boob F. Gleason, age 91, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 9, 2019, at the Burlington Health & Rehab Center, with his family by his side.

He was born in Montpelier on March 26, 1928 to the late James S. & Clara (Cooley) Gleason.

Boob had an incredible work ethic, that he graciously passed on to his children. He and Norma owned and operated Carneys restaurant for over 30 years, working so many hours that the children remember him taking cat naps on a cot in the basement. He was known for his fresh baked rolls, amazing pies and other baked goods. He also drove for E.M. Hayes transporting livestock, and for Wrightholm Bus Lines for over 40 years, driving children to and from school, sporting events and field trips. He was a proud member of the Enosburg Methodist Church, Enosburg American Legion Post 42, Swanton VFW Post 778, Knights of Columbus and the Scottish Rites. When Boob wasnt hard at work, he genuinely enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, growing huge sunflowers, mowing his lawn and spending endless hours in the pool entertaining the grandkids. He will surely be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his children, Jim Gleason and his wife, Julie, Steve Gleason and his fianc, Erin McGee, Susan Salminen and her husband, Robert, and Sally Wright and her husband, Cliff; grandchildren, Tucker and his husband, Phil, Conner, Jed, Steve, Ryan, Caleb, Mitchell, Lucas, McKenzie and her husband, Levi, and Hannah; great grandson, Blake; sister, Greta Beaulieu and her husband, Andy; a special friend until the end, Lisa Tibbits; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Boob was predeceased by his wife, Norma (Sweet) Gleason in 2005; brothers, Neil, Jimmy and Robert Gleason; and sisters, Betty Jacobs, Polly Young and Letty Ann Barton.

Boobs family is thankful for the exceptional care he received at Ave Maria Community Home and for all the special friendships he gained during his time there.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Enosburg Falls United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the Sheldon Village Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday at the Enosburg Falls United Methodist Church from 10:00 AM until the hour of the service.
