Susan Hakey

SWANTON - Susan M. Hakey, age 78, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 7, 2026 at her home in Swanton.

She was born April 28, 1948 in Northampton, MA to the late Delmore & Margaret (Hoxie) Roberts.

Susan lived a simple life filled with hard work, always taking pride wherever she was working. She also loved animals and above all else, her family was her world.

She is survived by her children, Lisa Gett-Johnson and her husband Brian, and William "Bill" Gett and his significant other Mary Jane Cota; son-in-law, Mark Ashline; grandchildren, Shelby Ashline Brock and her husband Roland, and Trinity Johnson; several siblings, and many nieces & nephews. In addition to her parents, Susan was predeceased by her husband, Steve Hakey; her daughter, Donella Ashline; and her siblings, Rosemary, and Greg Roberts.

In keeping with Susan's wishes there will be no public services for her and she will be laid to rest next to her brother in Massachusetts.
