Susan Charlotte Salminen

In memory of Susan Charlotte Salminen, beloved mother, grandmother and wife, who passed away peacefully on June 10, 2026 at the age of 70. She was born in St Albans, Vermont on December 5, 1955 to Boob and Norma (sweet) Gleason.

Susan (Susie to her friends, Cindy Lou or CL to her late husband) grew up in Enosburg Falls, Vermont, and graduated from Enosburg Falls High School where she would ultimately pursue her lifelong career as a paraeducator. In 1983 She married Robert (Bob) Salminen and traveled the world with him while he was serving in the military. She particularly enjoyed her time in Italy and Germany and often shared stories about those adventures. Following her world travels, Susie spent a few years in Florida where in 1987 her first child Jed was born. A year later 1988, now back in Vermont, Susie and Bob welcomed their second child Steven, and three years after that they were blessed with the birth of their third child Ryan 1991.

Those who knew Susie will remember her love of animals (especially horses, dogs, and cats), her green thumb, her love of the Beatles and the Grateful Dead, her candid nature, and genuine authenticity. She also touched the lives of many of the students she interacted with throughout her career as a paraeducator at Enosburg Falls High School. Susie is survived by three sons, Jed Salminen, his wife Chloe (Cartularo) and their two children Oskari and Watson of Northfield Vermont; Steven Salminen of Enosburg, Vermont; and Ryan Salminen of North Carolina; and her beloved cat Zelda. Three siblings James (Jim) and Julie Gleason, Sally and Clifford Wright, and Steve Gleason. Susie was predeceased by her husband, Robert (Bob) Salminen.

Friends and family are invited to Susan's life celebration to include a visitation on Friday, June 19th, 2026 from 2-4:00PM at the Goss-Spears Life Celebration Home, 96 Dickenson Ave., Enosburg Falls, VT 05450.
