Timothy "Tim" Hubbard

April 8, 1961 — August 4, 2025

SWANTON - Timothy Hubbard, 64, hung up his fishing rod and hunting rifle for the last time on Monday, August 4th, 2025, at the McClure Miller Respite House in Colchester.

Tim was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and all-around good guy who knew how to make people laugh. He had a knack for sneaking in a one-liner at just the right moment-sometimes witty, sometimes questionable, but always unforgettable.

His pride in his kids-Andrew, Adam, and Ashton-was off the charts. He loved nothing more than watching them grow up (and occasionally giving them unsolicited advice, whether they wanted it or not). Being "Papa" to Calyx and Kember was the cherry on top.

Tim had a lifelong love for hunting and fishing. If there was a chance to be out in the woods or on the water, he was there-preferably with a Budweiser, a few good buddies, and a story or two that may or may not have been entirely true. Deer camp wasn't just a tradition for him-it was a sacred holiday filled with camaraderie, bragging rights, and questionable cooking.

He also spent over 20 years maple sugaring, turning sap season into both a tradition and an excuse for more stories and laughs. A master carpenter who knew that if it was worth building, it was worth building right. Tim could build or fix just about anything, often leaving behind work as sturdy and dependable as he was.

He worked hard, loved harder, and cared deeply for the people around him. Whether it was family, friends, or stranger, Tim made people feel welcome.

Tim leaves behind his wife of 35 years, Joanie Hubbard; his children Ashton Banyea (and husband Seth), Adam Hubbard (and significant other Camryn Kane), and Andrew Hubbard (and wife Quinn); his grandchildren, Calyx and Kember; siblings Kimberly Russ, Lana Renaudette, Peggy Howrigan, Eric Hubbard, Emily Adams, and Estelle Schukei; step-mother Julie Hubbard; in-laws Lee and Leshia Paradee; sister-in-law Chandra Walsh (and husband Andrew); plus a whole crew of hunting and fishing buddies who are probably already arguing about who gets his lucky fishing spot.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Tim's life with visitation on Friday, August 8th, 2025, from 6:30-8:30 PM at the Goss Life Celebration Home, 89 Grand Ave, Swanton, VT. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Saturday, August 9th, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Church of the Nativity.

Friends and family are invited to Alan Klinefelter's residence following the Mass, for a celebration of life potluck gathering.
