HIGHGATE – Travis Bedard, age 37, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 21, 2021.
He was born in St. Albans on April 17, 1983 to Ronald & Wendy (Bushey) Bedard.
Travis graduated from MVU in 2001 and attended Community College of Vermont and Unity College in Maine. He was a standout athlete throughout his life and helped lead Unity College to the NCAA playoffs as a freshman. After college he continued playing competitive softball in local leagues and always looked forward to the Nick Fournier tournament. Travis was very competitive and excelled at just about everything he tried – including playing poker and board games. He loved being outdoors – especially hunting and fishing – anything adventurous and working with his hands. He was especially proud of this past hunting season with his friends in Alburgh when he shot the biggest buck of his life.
Travis’s one true love was his daughter, Bryanna. She was his world and his best friend. He was so happy to be able to help coach her athletic teams, take her fishing, biking, or camping, or just sit and watch tv with her. He was always happy with her beside him.
He is survived by his daughter, Bryanna Bedard and his parents Ronald & Wendy Bedard all of Highgate; his sister, Lindsay Bedard and her fiancé Alex of Highgate; aunts & uncles, Paul Bedard, Mike Bedard and his wife Donna, Denise Comstock and her husband Everett, Robert Bedard and his wife Raeleen, Julie Robb and her husband Pat, Penny Danforth, Randy Bushey and his wife Wendy, and Todd Bushey and several cousins. Travis was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Iona & Kenneth “Blair” Bushey; paternal grandmother, Leona Morgan Benson; and his uncle, Randy Bedard.
