ALBURGH- Velma A. Cameron, age 93 passed away on Wednesday, January 17th, 2024, at her home with family by her side. 

She was born on November 17, 1930, to Wilbur and Katherine (Tusa) Jarvis.

Velma married the love of her life who now predeceases her, Darwin Cameron Sr. on September 2, 1950. Velma dedicated her life to raising her children, instilling in them the values of family, compassion, and perseverance. In her free time, Velma enjoyed traveling, particularly to the breathtaking Thousand Islands region. She cherished the opportunity to embark on bus trips with fellow seniors, exploring new destinations and creating treasured memories along the way. Velma had a creative side and found solace in working on puzzles and scrapbooking, capturing life's special moments in beautiful and enduring ways, and always preparing a meal for everyone. Beyond her many hobbies, Velma will always be remembered as a dedicated and hardworking woman. In addition to raising her children, she also managed the everyday demands of running a farm, applying her strong work ethic and determination.

Velma is survived by her daughters, Annette Smith and her husband Alan, and Martha Pease and her husband Dennis; daughters-in-law, Karen Cameron and Susan Cameron; grandchildren, Amy Mashtare, Kelly and Skipper Deyo, Kimberly and David Lane, Karyn Marie and Tony, Sally and Bobby Miller, Melissa and LP LeBlanc, Adam Smith and Alex Smith; great-grandchildren, Noah Smith, Eliza Smith, Josie Smith, Anna and Seth Wyman, Cameron Erno, Kerri and Ashleigh Deyo, Alexandria Therrian, Katelyn Juntenen, Katie Trombley, Devin Cameron, Devin LeBlanc, Isaiah LeBlanc, and Lucas LeBlanc; great great-grandchildren, Ledger, Hudson Wyman, Natalie Cameron, and soon to be arriving, Paisley Anna Mae Deyo; and her siblings, William Jarvis, Ken Jarvis and his wife Kathy, and Theresa Hinman.

Velma was predeceased by her parents, her husband Darwin Cameron Sr.; children, Larry Cameron Sr., Barbara Blair, Darwin Cameron Jr.; son-in-law, Vercile Blair; grandsons, Larry Cameron Jr. and Justin “Scott” Mashtare; great grandson, Keith Mashtare; and her siblings, Richard Jarvis, Floren Jarvis, Shirley Jarvais, Connie Jarvis, and Madeline Pearo.

Family and friends are invited to Velma’s life celebration events to include a visitation from 1:00-2:00PM on Tuesday, January 23rd, 2024, with a memorial service following at 2:00PM at the Goss Life Celebration Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton, VT 05488.
