Goss Funeral Services is owned and operated by Adam and Callie (Lumbra) Goss. Adam & Callie both have deep family roots in the area; Adam is the son of Thomas Goss and Kelly (Jackson) Bailey, Callie is the daughter of Craig & Joan (Clark) Lumbra.

They bought Spears Funeral Home from Thomas & Deborah Cook in March of 2017. The Cook family owned and operated the funeral home for 15 years and Tom had been an employee at Spears Funeral Home since 1984. In September of 2017 Spears Funeral Home merged with Kidder Memorial Home to form Goss Funeral Services. Arthur Goodhue owned and operated Kidder Memorial Home for 15 years and was an employee since 1981.

Prior to the Cook’s purchase of Spears Funeral Home in 2002, it was owned and operated by the Spears family. William “Billy” Spears Jr. ran the funeral home from 1979 until 2002; his grandfather, George Spears and father, William Spears Sr. founded the Spears Funeral Home in 1955.

Prior to Arthur Goodhue, Kidder Memorial Home was owned and operated by the Kidder family. Wesley Kidder founded Kidder Memorial Home in 1975.

In response to the changing wants and needs of client families Goss Funeral Services transitioned to become a Life Celebration Home in 2020. At that time, Kidder Memorial Home became The Goss Life Celebration Home and Spears Funeral Home became The Goss-Spears Life Celebration Home.

Goss Funeral Services and Life Celebration Homes are well positioned to provide the families of Franklin and Grand Isle Counties with the highest level of service for years to come.
